• How do I prep my hair to achieve the best curls? Just make sure your hair section is clean, dry and combed, then hold it straight as you place it into the hair guide in the curl chamber
• How do I know when Curl Secret® 2.0 is ready to use? When you turn on the power, the red indicator light will flash. Once it becomes solid, the temperature has reached its set point and Curl Secret® 2.0 is ready to use.
• Is there a certain way I have to hold the Curl Secret® 2.0? Yes. The opening of the curl chamber must face toward your head. Once you do your first curl, you'll see how that works.
• I have long hair; could it get tangled in the curl chamber? Curl Secret® 2.0 built in an added safety feature to make sure it doesn't! The styler actually stops if it senses a tangle. Just release the strand and start over.
• Can I use styling products on my hair with the Curl Secret® 2.0? Yes. As with traditional styling appliances, you can use styling products with Curl Secret® 2.0. Though residue can be removed from the appliance with the easy-twist chamber cleaner, we do not recommend using any product that is sticky. Use products like oils and sprays designed to protect against heat instead.
• I have curly or textured hair. Is Curl Secret® 2.0 a good styling option for me? Absolutely! Curl Secret® 2.0 creates the perfect curl on any hair type or texture, one after another. And the titanium ceramic adds incredible shine.
• When Curl Secret® 2.0 is in sleep mode, how does it return to set temperature? To wake the styler from sleep mode, simply press the handles closed and then open. The red indicator light will turn solid, indicating that Curl Secret® 2.0 is ready to use.
• How can I clean inside the curl chamber of the Curl Secret® 2.0? Cleaning the curl chamber is simple. First, unplug the tool and let it cool. Then use a soft cloth to wipe the inside of the chamber and around the barrel.
• Can I use the Curl Secret® 2.0 on hair extensions? No! High heat may damage some hair extensions. Do not use this styling appliance on any hair extensions.
• Can I use it on shorter hair? Yes. It can be used on any length hair that is long enough to be drawn into the curl chamber.
• How can I create different curls for different looks? The Curl Secret® 2.0 has two different-sized curl chambers for different-sized curls – 1" for tighter, more defined, and 1¼" for looser, beachy curls and waves. Adjustable time and temperature settings offer even more style options. Longer times and higher temperatures maximize curl definition. Less time and lower heat create looser, flowing curls.
• What is the R-L-A setting for? The R-L-A setting lets you vary curl direction for more styling options. Select R to do curls on the right side of the head and L for the left side of the head to create even, more sophisticated looks. Select A to automatically alternate the curl direction for more natural-looking curls and waves.
• Can I change the curl chamber while the unit is plugged in? No. The unit must be unplugged and, if hot, you must wear the included heat-protective glove before changing the curl chamber.
• Can I use my larger curl chamber on my older Curl Secret®? No. The original Curl Secret® (CD203) does not have interchangeable curl chamber functionality.
• What is the difference between the Low and High timer settings? The Low settings heat hair for 8|10|12 seconds; the High settings heat hair for 10|12|14 seconds. The longer hair is heated in the chamber, the tighter the curl.
• How does titanium ceramic benefit my hair? The titanium-ceramic coating on Curl Secret® 2.0 creates a smoother glide and a silky, shiny finish. Calms down flyaways and frizz, and evenly distributes heat for salon-perfect results. Makes it easier to clean off any residue from styling products, too!
• Is this Curl Secret® 2.0 appropriate for naturally coarse or textured hair? Yes. The styler’s high-heat settings can transform hard-to-style hair into smooth, silky curls and waves.
